The Gift of TimeTime is perhaps one of the greatest gifts our Creator has bestowed upon us. While we are here we have a unique opportunity to share our gift of time with others and especially with Our Lord. Some Traditional Devotions and Prayers You Might Find Of InterestSaint JosephIt seems that the greatness of Saint Joseph has remained hidden from most of the world even though Pope Pius IX declared Saint Joseph the Patron of the Universal Church in 1870. Prophecy states that in the end times Saint Joseph will be recognized and loved greatly by all. Perhaps those times have begun. It has also been prophesied that before Satan is defeated Saint Joseph will be elevated from his obscurity to his rightful place of Honor. Chaplet of Saint MichaelTo all who should recite the Nine Salutations every day, before receiving Holy Communion, St. Michael has promised that an Angel of each of the Nine Choirs of Angels would be assigned to accompany them to the Holy Table. He also promised continual assistance during life, and after death, and the deliverance of the souls of those who practice this devotion as well as their relatives from the pains of Purgatory. Prayer to Saint Michael The Prayer to Saint Michael was composed by Pope Leo XIII after he had a prophetic vision. In 1886, the pope decreed that this prayer be said at the end of "low" Mass (not "high," or sung Masses) thoughout the universal Church. The practice of the congregation praying these prayers at the end of Mass continued until aout 1970. In 1994, during the International Year of the Family, Pope John Paul II asked all Catholics to pray this prayer daily. He warned that the fate of humanity was in great peril. Though he did not order that the prayer be said after Mass, he urged Catholics to pray together to overcome the forces of evil and darkness in the world.
A Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. — Pope Leo XIII Prayer of Saint Gertrude the GreatDictated by Our Lord to Release 1,000 Souls from Purgatory each time it is said. Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. This prayer was extended to include living sinners as well. |
